HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the clean slate that the new year brings? 

I so enjoy planning and dreaming for the year ahead. For 2016, given my serious lack of photographic evidence of most of last year's weddings, I've invested in a lovely new camera and resolve to take pictures of pretty much anything that keeps still long enough. 

I wanted to share some photos of December's Wreath Workshop taken by my lovely friend Abi Dare of the beautiful lifestyle blog, These Four Walls. Abi joined in and made her own beautiful wreath and was kind enough to take pictures and write a lovely blog post. True to form, I didn't take a simple photo(!) so check out Abi's full post here.

MOTHER'S DAY

Mother's Day came and went. A busy few days full of gorgeous Spring flowers and driving all over Bristol delivering to happy Mums...

A COLLABORATION WITH MEGAN RIERA, MODERN CALLIGRAPHER

So Valentine's Day happened. Of course it's an enormous con drummed up by some greedy blokes who wanted to sell those weird enormous padded cards, but I just LOVE IT!!! I always imagine making Mr Deane eggs and toast in little heart shapes, or maybe heart shaped custard creams like the special ones in Nigella's 'Feast'. I never actually DO any of these things of course. But I think about it.

This year, I was really excited to collaborate with Megan Riera. Megan is an amazing designer who I've gotten to know through some mutual admiration on Instagram. I love modern calligraphy and Megan's lettering is absolutely exquisite. Megan made beautiful swing tags on hand-made Indian paper to accompany all of my Valentine's bouquets. She hand-lettered each one with a unique message and I loved them all!  

If you are considering having anything hand-lettered, I highly recommend getting in touch with Megan.

PHOTOGRAPHY PRACTICE

Some photography practice this week. All cut short by the loss of the battery charger for my SLR camera. Come in iPhone...

This bouquet is full of lots of gorgeous hellebores and is wrapped with lovely organic bamboo silk ribbon which is naturally hand-dyed in Cornwall by the very lovely Sian of Lancaster & Cornish.

GORGEOUS BLUSH AND NAVY WEDDING AT BERKELEY CASTLE

I was delighted to get these gorgeous images from Kate & Kev of Depict Photography. Amy and Tim got married in Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire. An amazing venue with absolutely stunning grounds. I loved this wedding. Amy and Tim were the sweetest couple, it was a beautiful sunny day and hey, it's a castle - what's not to like?
